Run for the Wall made a stop right here at Shelee’s Travel Center on May 13th, 2026. These riders — veterans, families, and patriots are ten days and 2,800+ miles from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. While fueling up their tanks and stomachs with high-quality fuel, this was our chance to let them know their community is with them every mile of the way.

Run For The Wall® (RFTW) is an organized cross-country motorcycle ride that honors veterans, their families, and those still unaccounted for — Prisoners of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA). Every May, riders depart from Ontario, California and arrive ten days later at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.
Since 2022, a fourth route — the Sandbox Route — continues the mission from D.C. to the Middle East Conflicts Wall in Marseilles, Illinois: “Wall to Wall.”
Run For The Wall began in 1989 when a group of Vietnam veterans traveled America’s heartland on motorcycles, speaking to radio, TV, and newspapers about the thousands of service members still unaccounted for. That need for awareness has never faded.
RFTW does not stage demonstrations or give political speeches. Riders travel in a safe, orderly fashion, obeying all traffic laws, treating every citizen with respect. Beyond awareness, the Run gives veterans from every era the Welcome Home they deserve, and a community where healing can begin.
